Blackpink Rosé's Apt. has been named the world's best-selling song, a first for K-pop
Blackpink's Rosé's Apt has been named the world's best-selling song, a first for K-pop, and I'll be posting about it. Girl group Blackpink's "Rosé's Apt." has become the first K-pop song to become the world's best-selling hit.
According to the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) on February 19, 2026, "APT." topped the 2025 Global Singles Chart.
The IFPI Global Singles Chart is an indicator that measures the most popular songs worldwide throughout the year, quantifying factors such as downloads and music consumption.
The IFPI announced that Blackpink's Rosé is the first artist outside of Europe and North America to top the chart.
In 2012, Psy became the first K-pop artist to do so with "Gangnam Style." BTS also topped the chart in 2020 and 2021, and Jungkook in 2024, but not at the top.
The IFPI stated, "Blackpink's Rosé's Apt." achieved its top spot thanks to its long-term global success. This is the first time a song has topped the global singles chart with lyrics in a language other than English,” the statement said.

Bruno Mars, who sang "APT." with Blackpink Rosé, returned to the top spot 14 years after reaching the top spot with "Just The Way You Are" in 2011. Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga's duet "Die With A Smile" also ranked fourth.
The original soundtrack for the Netflix animated film "K-Pop Demon Hunters," "Golden," followed "APT." at second place.
Furthermore, "Soda Pop," another OST from the K-Pop Demon Hunters, ranked 13th, making it the first time two OSTs from a single film have been named to the chart.
Blackpink Rosé's APT was named the world's best-selling song, a first for K-pop, and I posted about it. Korea's soft power has been greatly enhanced by K-pop and K-dramas. It's on the rise. Perhaps that's why there are so many people learning the Korean language, relative to our national strength. I hope we can further develop and utilize these areas in which we excel, contributing to a world where humanity thrives together. Fighting!
